Daily General Admission tickets for the 2010 World Rowing Championships go on sale today (3 May) via Ticketek outlets and online at www.ticketek.co.nz.

And there's an Early Bird special for fans quick off the mark. Organisers are offering 25% off the first 1000 full price General Admission tickets sold for each day of the event.

The 2010 World Rowing Championships take place at Lake Karapiro from 31 October – 7 November. It will be the biggest international sports event to be held in New Zealand since the 1990 Commonwealth Games and the first time the event has been staged in NZ since 1978.

The General Admission tickets admit spectators to lakeside viewing areas on the Domain embankment area and give full access to all the entertainment and other amenities on Karapiro Domain.

The daily tickets range in price from $19.95 (children 8-15 years $5.00) to $59.95 (children $20.00) on the Finals days. The ticket price includes parking and bus tickets for the Park & Ride system. Entry for children aged under 8 is free.

"It's the chance of a lifetime for Kiwis to see the world's best rowers in action on one of the world's best courses," says Organising Committee CEO Tom Mayo. "Add in the range of entertainment on offer off the water and every day will be a fantastic day out for fans and families."

Eight day Grandstand season tickets are also available, priced from $290.00 to $445.00.

Disabled patrons should contact the Ticketek Helpline on 0800 8425 3835 to buy tickets. An area in the front row of the Grandstand has been reserved for disabled patrons as well as a special disabled viewing platform in front of the Grandstand near the finish line. If a disabled patron requires the assistance of a carer to access the event, then the accompanying carer will be admitted free of charge on the same ticket. In addition, parking will be available at the venue via Gate B for disabled patrons in vehicles displaying a recognised Mobility Parking Permit.
