The Speight's Coast to Coast is now on Facebook, and we'd love you to become a Fan. We're looking at creating a page for competitor's to record their motivational stories, pictures and training progress.
Safety On The Mountain And River Stages
As spring approaches it's important to remind you to take responsibility for your safety - sharpen up your skills before you go (it's called training), never enter these stages alone (the people you go with are your immediate rescue team), check the weather forecast and river flows, fill in an intentions form, carry wet weather and thermal clothing, emergency shelter, food and a means to light a fire. Never enter the river or mountain stages if they are in flood.
Refresh yourself on the signs of hypothermia and remember to check, clean and dry your equipment for Didymo when moving between waterways.
