Competitors entering the 2016 Coast to Coast before 31 July go into a prize draw worth thousands of dollars, including a Giant bikes sponsorship package worth $5000.
"We've been encouraged by the number of early entries," Event Director Richard Ussher said. "There is a host of great prizes up for grabs from our sponsors if you enter before the end of July. The Giant competition requires some thought as the winner will be judged as having the most creative training effort while there's also a range of other major prizes up for grabs including NZ Ski passes for the Remarkables, Coronet Peak and Mt Hutt and a Hermitage accommodation and food package."
Giant bikes are challenging Coast to Coast competitors who do enter before the 31 July early bird cut-off date to post their most creative training secret online via social media.
Clement Holgate, New Zealand Marketing representative for Giant said the company was keen on developing a social media campaign for the Coast to Coast that was interactive, engaging and required some effort and creative thought.
"Giant Bicycles NZ has been an avid supporter of Coast to Coast for many years and with a new era beginning as the naming sponsor changes we decided it was time to change up our involvement," Holgate said.
"So we are offering a Sponsorship prize to one lucky cyclist early bird entry. They will gain the support of Giant NZ for their 2016 race in the form of a brand new 2016 Giant road bike, Giant cycling kit and have their entry paid for."
Competitors who enter before the 31st of July and want to go in the Giant Bicycles NZ sponsorship prize draw need to go into Giant Bicycles New Zealand Instagram account (@giantbikesnz) and post their most creative training concept image using the hashtag #GiantC2C.
"We believe this prize will be a huge advantage to any competitor, whether you're giving the Coast to Coast a go for the first time, or whether you're a regular entry, and Giant will be cheering and supporting you all the way," Holgate said.
Entries received before 31 July 2015 are eligible for payment in five equal instalments on the first of August, September, October and November.
