Monique Williams and Andrea Miller will return to the World University Games to be held in Belgrade in early July keen to improve on their performances at the last World University Games in Thailand. They have been selected along with eight other athletes to represent New Zealand at the biennial Games.
Williams, who had a sensational season this year, has been selected for the 200m, 400m and 4 x 100m relay. In Thailand Williams was seventh in the 200m final. In the last track season Williams won the triple sprinting crown for the third year in a row and also set fresh New Zealand records in the 200m.
Miller was also seventh in Thailand in the 100m hurdles setting a then New Zealand record of 13.20s. Miller has since lowered this record to 13.12s.

Farquhar has competed at two Olympic Games, a world championship, a world cup, two world junior championships and the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games where he finished seventh. Newdick was fourth in the decathlon at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
The 25th summer Universiade will be held in Belgrade Serbia 1-12 July.
