Entries are now open for the final race of the Riverrun Trail Series, the off-road running series which explores the spectacular lakeside and river tracks in Lake Wanaka.

The third and final event on Saturday 21 May, from Glendhu Bay to Roy's Bay in Wanaka travels on the scenic Damper Bay/Waterfall Creek Track and is 14.3km. The lake-side track offers stunning views across Lake Wanaka throughout and is very achievable for both serious and social runners. The race will determine the overall winners with the fastest male and female runners claiming the title, the John Pawson trophies and a major cash prize.

Race director Victoria Murray-Orr said it is great to have had so many people participate in the series enjoying Lake Wanaka's tracks and looks forward to the finale race, "With colder weather just around the corner this is a great end of season race to do," she said. "Creating the series has encouraged people to stay fit and healthy throughout the year and we look forward to seeing them on the start line."

The event is well-supported by local and sporting businesses who are providing a great mix of prizes from accommodation at the Riverrun luxury lodge to Merrell outdoor gear, Revive beauty and massage treatments, sports clothing from Racers Edge and Sportsbands to track run training from Lakes Podiatry as well as many vouchers. Prizes will be presented to place getters and plenty of spot prizes to commend all competitors' efforts.

The series began 17 October with a 5km, 10km and half marathon option on the Hawea River Track. The second race travelled on the Clutha River Track from Albert Town to Luggate in February.

The Riverrun Trail Series is generously supported by Riverrun, the Pawson Adventure Fund, Nevada Sports, Racers Edge, Revive Beauty and Lakes Podiatry.
