New Zealand cycling star Cath Cheatley has gained further honours for her stellar season, selected as Domestic Roadie of the Year in the United States by respected cycling magazine VeloNews.
Cheatley won the US National Series title after a superb season including stage wins at the Gila Tour and Cascade Tour where she was second overall as well as victory at the prestigious Fitchburg-Longsjo Classic.
The Wanganui-based professional also led her Colavita-Baci team, which includes New Zealand road champion Rushlee Buchanan, to earn the honour of Team of the Year.
Both Cheatley and Buchanan will be competing in the Armstrong Motor Group Festival of Cycling elite road race in Christchurch tomorrow, which is part of the RaboDirect National Points Series.
