The Warmup Cycling team has named seven riders keen to consolidate its position at the top of the category two points table in this Sunday’s sixth round of the Benchmark Homes series in Canterbury.
The Canterbury based team currently lies eighth out of the eighteen teams, ahead of a number of category one teams, and is tied with Team Thule Cycling as the leading category two team.
Consistency has been a key factor in the first four rounds, John McKenzie said.
“We’ve had a few challenges but have managed to register points in every round and Amanda (Minty) has been on the podium twice which has been great.”
The team only fielded the minimum of five riders in the first three rounds meaning all five had to finish for the team to register points.
Michael Crawford securing a top 10 finish in the last race held on Sunday 15 August has also been a highlight.
Team regulars Minty, McKenzie, Mike Ferigo and David Roche will be joined by strong master’s cyclist Glenn Quantock, former New Zealand track cyclist and masters gold medal winner Craig Scott and former professional rugby player Tom Simpson for this Sunday’s race.
