The dates have been released for the summer’s annual 2XU Stroke & Stride Series.
Established in 1989, the world’s most popular swimrun event will again be contested over eight events on the Auckland waterfront commencing on November 3rd. The final event on March 16th 2011 doubles as the 2011 New Zealand Swimrun Championships.
Reigning champions Brent Foster and Simone Ackermann expect tough competition as they endeavour to defend both their Stroke & Stride and New Zealand Championship titles over the summer months.
The 2XU Stroke & Stride events are held midweek each fortnight at Mission Bay and St Heliers Bay.
Events start with a sea swim in the Waitemata Harbour followed by a road run on the waterfront allowing participants to enjoy a regular form of healthy, outdoor exercise. Events progress through the summer months and make the most of the city’s magnificent harbour and beaches.
The Stroke & Stride provide events over a range distances that are achievable for competent swimmers and runners while at the same time offering excellent competition for the top athletes.
There is $50,000 in prizes including $10,000 prize money for the fastest competitors plus a mountain of prizes from our sponsors that all competitors are in the draw to win.
