The NZ Outdoor Adventure Expo, presented by The Press: Good Living - is New Zealand’s largest display of outdoor adventure products and services. The event will be held at Pioneer Leisure Centre in Christchurch from 25-27 September 2009.
The entire Expo is dedicated to the promotion of active lifestyles and outdoor pursuits; with a large variety of recreational products, services and activities represented. There will be biking, guided walking, glacier tours, kayaking, scuba diving, trekking, destinations, accommodation, safety and survival kits, camping supplies and nutritional products to name a few … Visitors will have the opportunity to buy the latest ‘must have’ equipment at awesome prices from the stand-holders, while the technical stuff will be explained in entertaining seminars and on-stand demonstrations. There will be a huge Tent Expo set-up outside showcasing the latest in adventure and family tents and lots of show specials.
Meet Freediving World Record Holder, Dave Mullins, who will be at the Awesome Scuba stand all day Saturday and Sunday promoting his new freediving course and challenge Silver Fern Maree Bowden on the Skins stand to see if you have a better heart rate during exercise!!
Recreation Expo’s Managing Director Karen Hamilton says “the event has something for every taste, budget and fitness level. We want to exposure visitors to a variety of recreational activities and give them the opportunity to participate in fun competitions and on-stand demonstrations to get them inspired to get outdoors and enjoy all that NZ has to offer”.
Visitors to the event will be able to climb the 8m high rock wall, have their golf swing analysed, learn how to set-up their bike for maximum comfort and more … Plus every visitor will go into the draw to win over $5,000 worth of prizes in the More FM Ultimate Recreation Prize Draw.
It all kicks off on Friday 25 September at 5pm with a Speed Climbing Competition on the 8m high rock wall – teams of 4 are invited to take on the challenge and help Recreation Expo raise money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. Supporters are also welcome and the Café & Bar area, located beside the rock wall, will be open until 8pm.
