Manukau and Auckland City Councils are building a new boat ramp at Mangere Bridge. Concept plans have been developed and input is sought from boaties, recreational fishermen, cyclists, walkers and residents.
The design for the new all-tide facility includes floating pontoons, a breakwater and parking.
Manager Parks Development for Manukau City Council, Johan Ferreira says,
"It's important to hear from interested parties about the look and feel of the project and what ideas they would like included in the final design."
A consultation meeting will be held at the Mangere Bridge School Hall, corner of Coronation and Taylor Roads, Mangere Bridge at 5.30pm on Wednesday, 20 May.
"Come along, we look forward to your suggestions," says Mr Ferreira.
Manukau City and Auckland City Councils are providing $2 million funding for the project.
